Liver Transplant Observations

In addition to the one year fellowship program, UCLA also offers an observation-only program.

This is intended for fully trained practicing anesthesiologists who would like to gain additional insights to liver transplant anesthesia. A minimum commitment of 1 week is required, with a maximum of 4 weeks permitted. We recommend 2 weeks of observation to maximize your experience with the breadth of cases and to interact with our 5 liver transplant anesthesiologists.

To request observation time, please provide the necessary documents listed below. Observations are granted on a case-by-case basis.

The following items are required for us to process your request:
  1. Email Sally Alvarez for the request form and complete it.
  2. Copy of current state medical license
  3. Copy of photo identification card (passport or driver license)
  4. Letter of introduction from your department chair indicating purpose of your visit
  5. Dates for observation
Please fax the above documents to Sally Alvarez at (310) 794-2141.
